COLOMBO: KJM College International, Kohilawatte, recently conducted a practical training session and teachers’ workshop on Sri Lanka Education Reforms 2026 at its premises. The programme was held under the patronage of Acting Principal Ms. Zameena Halaldeen at the College premises on Monday July 6.
Founder and Director of KJM College International, A.R.M. Muddassair, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the institution’s achievements, ongoing initiatives, and future development plans.
The workshop was led by Abdul Azeez, Head of the Technology Stream at Zahira College and Deputy Secretary of the United Teachers Association. During his presentation, he explained the five key pillars of Sri Lanka’s new education reforms and outlined the major differences between the previous education system and the new reform framework. He also emphasized how the reforms are designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to succeed in an increasingly competitive future.
Former Principal of Parakrama Vidyalaya and teacher trainer Gemunu Weerakoon also addressed the participants. He conducted sessions on the practical implementation of the new education reforms, providing teachers with guidance on adapting to the revised curriculum and teaching methodologies.
Chairman of KJM College International M.A.M. Nizam and Director M.R.M. Mihlan was also present at the event.
