COLOMBO : On Tuesday, August 25, the BIA welcomed the Jetstar Airways inaugural flight from Melbourne, Australia marking its 10th international route operating from Melbourne, with three weekly flights connecting Melbourne and Colombo!
The inaugural flight was welcomed with a ceremonial water cannon salute organized by Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka Private Ltd, followed by a vibrant traditional Kandyan dance performance organized by Tourism Sri Lanka, showcasing the warmth and rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka.
The inaugural event featured a special cake cutting ceremony, marking the launch of Jetstar’s operations to Sri Lanka.
Passengers were greeted with warm Sri Lankan hospitality and presented with Ceylon Tea packs, sponsored by the Sri Lanka Tea Board, a perfect taste of island charm to begin their Sri Lankan journey.
