MOHAMMED RASOOLDEEN
COLOMBO : Deputy Speaker Dr.Rizvie Saleh left for Tehran early morning on Thursday July 2 to attend the state funeral services of the late supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Khamenei.
Khamenei, 86, was killed in a joint US-Israeli air strike on his compound in February.
The ceremonial funeral services are to take place in Tehran on July 4,5 ,Saturday and Sunday in the Iranian capital .
The deputy speaker will represent the president of Sri Lanka Anura Kumara Dissanayake at all functions in Tehran.
On his way to Tehran , Dr. Salih who flew by Salaam Air will transit in Oman where he would meet the Sri Lankan embassy officials in Muscat .
In Tehran , Dr Salih will be received by the Iranian government officials as well as by the Sri Lankan embassy officials in Tehran
