COLOMBO : The Young Women’s Muslim Association (YWMA) successfully organized its annual Back-to-School Programme 2025 at the YMMA Headquarters.
The event witnessed a large gathering of students with their parents from various areas, including Colombo, Beruwela, Malwana, Mawanella, and beyond.
It was a vibrant and inclusive gathering, bringing together students from diverse ethnic and cultural background, including Tamil, Sinhala, and Muslim communities.
The highlight of the event was the distribution of book packs to all participating students, containing all the essential supplies they needed for the new academic year.
Prominent guests graced the occasion included Mohammed Rasooldeen, Chief Editor of Colombo Times.Rizvi Rauff, Past Governor of Lions Club International (UK), gave a fruitful address and generously donated 20 lenses for cataract surgeries. P A Jayatilake, representing the Dematagoda Police Station, emphasized the importance of education and community unity.
Fawaza Thaha, President of YWMA, delivered a het speech, highlighting the significance of this ongoing project. She expressed her pride as to how the initiative has consistently helped countless students excel in their academic pursuits.
