
COLOMBO : Water tanks provided under the ‘Unilever Diyawara Sahaya’ project, implemented under the guidance of the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat to help people affected by the El Niño weather conditions store water, were symbolically handed over to Secretary to the President Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake at the Presidential Secretariat today (25).
Under the first phase of the initiative, 200 water tanks are to be distributed, with distribution to people affected in the districts of Moneragala, Polonnaruwa, Galle, Mannar and Trincomalee scheduled to commence tomorrow (26).
The consignment of water tanks was symbolically handed over to the Secretary to the President by Heshan Salinda Brandiyagampala, Head of Contemporary Manufacturing and Exports at Unilever Sri Lanka. Additional Secretary (Clean Sri Lanka) to the President S.P.C. Sugeeshwara, its Additional Director General Kapila Senarath, and representatives of Unilever Sri Lanka, including Thilina Rodrigo, Kaushika Warnasuriya and Kasun Wijewickrama, were also present.
