COLOMBO — The Embassy of the Republic of Turkiye , Colombo in participation with Turkish Airlines, Jetwing Hotels and the Alliance Francaise de Colombo organized Anadolu University Symphony Orchestra String Quartet Music Programme at the Alliance Francaise De Colombo, Barnes Place, Colombo on Wednesday May 7. The Music by Golsah Ergun, Verda Saygideger, Ece Hopa and Elif Ozbek.
ASO STRING QUARTET
Established in 2006 by the artists of the Anadolu University Symphony Orchestra (ASO), the String Quartet performed its first concerts under the artistic direction of Çağıl Yücelen, the soloist artist of the Presidential Symphony Orchestra. The group members continued their chamber music studies with Prof. Dr. Ozan Evrim Tunca during their higher education. The ASO String Quartet also features guest artists in its concerts.
Its repertoire includes works by J. Haydn, W.A. Mozart, A. Dvorak, U.C. Erkin, F. Amirov, D, Schostakovich, A. Borodin, C. Debussy, F. Mendelsson, F. Schubert, A. Glazunov, G.P. Telemann and arrangements by Turkish composer and musician Oğuzhan Balcı. In addition to being members of the Anatolian Symphony Orchestra, the group members continue their work as faculty members at the conservatory.
Ambassador to the Republic of Türkiye Semih Lütfü Turgut, Ambassador of Palesine Ihab I.M. Khalil , High Commissioner of Islamic Republic of Pakistan Major General (Retd) Faheem Ul Aziz and officials of the Turkish Airlines, Jetwing Hotels and the Alliance Francaise de Colombo were also present.
