RIYADH- Three Sri Lankans from senior expatriate families among the AlFaisal University Medical College (AFUMC) Riyadh Graduates this year. They are: Dr. Ayman Faiz,Dr Abdullah Niyas and Dr. Noora Rameez
Ayman and Noora are past pupils fromSri Lanka International School (SLIS) in Riyadh and Abdullah is from Bangladesh International School and Sri Lanka International School in Jeddah.
AFUMC is one of the top class institutions approved by the Sri Lanka Medical Council,(SLMC) Sri Lanka and it produces nearly 200 MBBS graduates every year.
The facilities this university provides is unique in many respects according to some parents. Cultural adaptation among students, Internship arrangements for all including international students and opportunities to get trained under world class consultants including from western nations with modern facilities and technology are noted to name a few in addition to the opportunities for research in western countries during the long summer holidays.

This year, with the graduation of three Sri Lankans from the college of Medicine at Alfaisal University totals the number of Sri Lankan doctors from Alfaisal eight. Currently, there are five more Sri Lankan students reading for medical degrees in the institution.
First Sri Lankan professional from this university is Dr Ashfaq Faiz and he is currently serving a leading hospital in Riyadh. He was followed by Dr. Noora Ruxan, Dr Hamza Ruxan, Dr Amal Farooq and Dr Safiya Moulana in addition to current year graduates.
The university’s curriculum was initially supported by Partners Harvard International USA and it consistently ranks 1 among medical colleges in Middle East Gulf region in the annual regional medical board examinations.
