COLOMBO- The three Bengali tiger cubs at the Dehiwala Zoological Gardens will celebrate their first birthday falls on Sunday, March 5.
The trio are in good health and very playful under the best care given to them by the Colombo Zoological Gardens.
The mother of the three Bengal tiger cubs named Akira, Duma and Leo at Dehiwala Zoo, passed away in September last year.
Director General of National Zoological Gardens, Thilak Premakantha said the mother tiger known as “Kella”who gave birth to the three cubs on March 5 was suffering from a severe cancer in the neck.
The tigress was being treated by the zoo’s veterinarians and animal staff members when she passed away.
She was only 15 years old when she passed away.
Kella was brought to the Dehiwala Zoo in Sri Lanka from the Xinjiang Safari Park in China in 2008 as part of an animal exchange program.
Your Excellency. Why are you making mockery of the great position you hold. That day in parliament, costing 1 million to the people, we were hoping to hear something meaningful and useful to the nation and people. But happened to be great fun day. My nation is crying.
