COLOMBO – Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) Tamil Service organized the Thai Pongal Festival on Thursday January 15 at the SLBC premises. It was held under the patronage of Director of the Tamil Service R. Kanapathipillai.
SLBC Chairman Professor Dr. Uditha Gayashan Gunasekara was present as chief guest.
Colombo 7, Torrington Shri Murugan Kovil Kurukkal Bramashiri Udayakumar Sarma conducted the poojai.
SLBC Director General Sudath Ratnaweera, Deputy Director General Administration Mrs. Tharaka Medavi Dissanayake, Colombo Municipal Councilor Eng. San Kukawarthan, Department of Hindu Religious and Cultural Affairs Director Y. Aniruddhan, Dr. Yoosuf Marikkar, Sinhalal, Tamil and Muslims Service senior officers and staff participated at the poojai.
