


MALE :The Sri Lanka Friendship Forum Maldives, affiliated with the Sri Lanka High Commission in the Maldives, hosted the Teachers’ Felicitation Ceremony and Mental Health Awareness Day on 15th November 2024 at the Auditorium of MNU Business School, Male’. This event, organized under the auspices of the Friendship Forum’s Women and Child Welfare Committee, highlighted the dedication of Sri Lankan teachers and the importance of mental well-being in today’s society.
The event, graced by H.E. Ranga Goonawardena, the Sri Lanka High Commissioner to the Maldives, as the Chief Guest, brought together educators, community members, and stakeholders to celebrate the invaluable contributions of Sri Lankan teachers and to shed light on the importance of mental health awareness.
In his keynote address, H.E. Ranga Goonawardena expressed profound gratitude to the Sri Lankan teachers who have not only educated generations with dedication and excellence but have also significantly contributed to strengthening the relations between Sri Lanka and the Maldives. He praised their tireless efforts in shaping young minds, nurturing future leaders, and fostering a positive image of Sri Lanka in the Maldives.
The program featured a variety of inspiring events, including a panel discussion on mental health, cultural performances by children, certificates of appreciation for teachers, and a heartfelt poem dedicated to educators.
