The Muslim community in general has an axe to grind with the president for not appointing a Muslim parliamentarian as a minister !
Social media is inundated with concerns on the absence of a Muslim minister in the cabinet and also there have been sporadic justifications as to why a Muslim was not chosen for the cabinet .
Whatever the pros and cons may be ! It cannot be gainsaid that the Muslim community should be given a role to play in the present administration !
In the annals of Sri Lankan politics, various governments have never abstained from choosing a Muslim member to the cabinet. The present appointments of ministers have caused a grave concern among Muslims because a sizable section of the community was keen on setting up a NPP government. The community also feels that it is badly let down and there should be a Muslim in the cabinet to represent its interests.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake who strongly believes in national unity has to take a remedial action by redressing the grievances of this community .Over to you Your Excellency!!!!!
