COLOMBO : Long serving Palestinian Ambassador and dean of the diplomatic corps in Sri Lanka Dr Zuhair M.H. Zaid paid a farewell call on SLMC leader Rauff Hakeem at the Party Headquarters “Darussalam” on Monday ( 5 ) and extended his sincere gratitude to the MP for his consistent support for the Palestinian cause by voicing the Palestinian’s struggle for an independent , sovereign state in the Middle East, in and outside Parliament.
He is next assigned to Islamabad, after serving nearly 10 years in Sri Lanka. Ambassador Zuhair Zaid said , he considers Sri Lanka to be his second home and would miss it profoundly.
The SLMC Leader and MP Hakeem bid adieu to Ambassador Zaid and wished him well on his new assignment to a neighouring nation in the region.
SLMC Leader’s Coordinating Secretary Rahmath Munsoor was also present at this meeting.
