COLOMBO- Seyed Hameed Mowlana,91, the most senior Sri Lankan expatriate in Saudi passed away at the Specialized Medical Hospital in Riyadh in the early hours of Monday morning. On May 19.
Mowlana was attached to Riyadh Intercontinental Hotel in the early seventies and subsequently he joined a private company as a partner .
He is survived by his son Wicky who works at Riyadh Armed Forces Hospital .
Mowlana was a prolific writer and has contributed articles to Colombo Times too. Our deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
He is also a close relative of former western province governor Alavi Mowlana and Abdul Cader Mashoor who is now in Riyadh .
The funeral will take place after Magrin prayers at the Al Rajhi mosque in Riyadh on Monday evening on May 19.
