COLOMBO – The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Sri Lanka and Maldives and Russian House had organized 80th Victory Day Celebration at Russian House on Monday May 5.
It was held under the patronage of Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Sri Lanka and Maldives Levan Dzhagaryan .
The Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha was present as chief guest.
Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Sri Lanka and Maldives, Andres Marcelo Gonzalez and Spouse of the Ambassador, Madam Maria Popova, Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Sri Lanka and Head of the Russian House in Colombo and spouse of the Counselor of the Russian Embassy, Dr. Saman Weerasinghe, Former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia, General Secretary of the SLRFS and chairman of the Centre of Russian geographical society in Colombo, Dr. Kumara Wickramasinghe, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Former President of the ASLGSC were graced the occasion.

Students of Russian Embassy presented cultural events and also Russian Club Students presented song at this ceremony.
