



COLOMBO : A residential training workshop for trainers, aimed at establishing district-level training pools to raise awareness among local officials and other stakeholders about the ‘Praja Shakthi’ National Movement for Poverty Eradication, is being held on Tuesday,Nov. (25) and Wednesday ,(26) at the Management Development Training Unit, Eastern Province.
A total of 54 officials are participating, including 41 Tamil-medium officers and 13 Sinhala-medium officers, representing District and Divisional Secretariats from the districts of Ampara, Trincomalee and Batticaloa, as well as representatives from Provincial Council offices.
The workshop is jointly organised by the Praja Shakthi Secretariat and the Ministry of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment. Officials from the Praja Shakthi Secretariat and the Presidential Secretariat are contributing as resource persons for the programme.
