COLOMBO On the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye, we
extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of
Türkiye.
Founded on 29 October 1923 under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Republic
of Türkiye represents a remarkable journey of national determination, resilience and
progress. This historic anniversary honours the aspirations and achievements of the Turkish
people.
Türkiye and Sri Lanka share valued ties of friendship, mutual respect and cooperation. As
Türkiye commemorates its National Day, we celebrate these bonds and express our sincere
hope for their continued growth in the years ahead.
I suggest that the last sentence of the message be amended as follows:
As Türkiye celebrates its National Day, we extend our sincere best wishes for the continued
progress and prosperity of the Turkish people in the years ahead.
