COLOMBO : On the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, I would like
to congratulate you and myself on the arrival of the month of mercy and
forgiveness, the holy month in which good deeds are multiplied, mistakes
are forgiven, and the great joy of the revelation of the great Book of Allah
(the holy Quran) is remembered. This holy month consists of a night that
is better than a thousand months and there are great lessons in Ramadan
that encourage competition in performing good deeds.
During this blessed month, I implore the Almighty God to bring this holy
month in its shadow mercy and safety to everyone, bless us to experience
Ramadan for many more years to enjoy its blessings and goodness, grant
everyone success in performing fasting and prayers and accept their
deeds.
