COLOMBO : As part of its ongoing efforts to support flood-affected people in Sri Lanka, Qatar Charity, in coordination with the District Secretariat of Mannar, distributed a new food baskets on December 1.
The humanitarian aid benefited approximately 200 families in the Mannar District, one of the regions severely affected by the recent floods.
To further alleviate the hardships faced by flood victims, Qatar Charity is preparing to distribute an additional 800 food parcels in other areas of Mannar.
Each parcel contains essential food supplies sufficient to sustain
a family for the entire month, aiming to address the immediate needs of those affected by the disaster.
Mannar District secretary Mr. K. Kanageshwaran Guided the relief efforts by his Team and Qatar Charity’s contribution was worth some 25 million rupees assistance for the flood victims.
The Additional District Secretary of Mannar, Dilishan Peiris, commended Qatar Charity for its timely intervention, stating: “We deeply appreciate the relief aid provided by Qatar Charity to the victims of the flash
floods and heavy rains. Their consistent humanitarian efforts to support those in need are truly commendable.” In addition to Mannar District NGO coordinator Parthiban was fully involved and appreciated the
efforts. Qatar Charity’s initiatives in Mannar underline its commitment to delivering vital support to communities in crisis, reaffirming its role as a key humanitarian partner in Sri Lanka.
