COLOMBO – The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government announced here that an islandwide Dengue Prevention week will be implemented starting tomorrow.
The programme is being implemented in response to the rising number of reported dengue cases.
The campaign will be launched centering around public places and educational institutions and will continue until the 20th of this month.
Accordingly, dengue prevention activities will be carried out focusing on all public spaces over a three-day period, from tomorrow and the day after, as well as on the 17th of June.
Eliminating mosquito breeding sites at educational institutions will be carried out on the 18th, and in both public and private institutions on the 19th.
Clean up activities in household and surrounding environment are scheduled to be carried out on the 20th.
