Muslim Aid Sri Lanka (MASL) has handed over a newly constructed ground floor of the school building at T/Kin/Kurinchakerny Girls’ Maha Vidyalaya in Kinniya,Trincomalee District, marking a significant milestone in enhancing educational infrastructure for children in the Eastern Province.
The project was generously funded by Al Hajj T.L.M. Nawash and Family through Muslim Aid Sri Lanka’s Smart Community Programme (SCP) and has created a modern and improved learning environment for students in the area.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the school premises under the patronage of Mr. A.M. Nazeem, Principal of T/Kin/Kurinchakerny Girls’ Maha Vidyalaya. The event was graced by Chief Guest Al Hajj T.L.M. Nawash,
Chairman of the Smart Community Programme, whose generous support made the project possible.
The ceremony was further honoured by the presence of distinguished guests including Mr. S. Hazeek, Assistant Director of Education (Planning), Zonal Director’s OƯice – Kinniya; Mr. AC. Faizar Khan, Country Director of Muslim Aid Sri Lanka; Mr. Azmi Thassim, Chairman of the SCP Programme, Hambantota, and Former Senior Research OƯicer, Parliament of Sri Lanka. Ms.Thushyanthy Hariprashath, District Engineer (School Works), Department of Education, Eastern Province.
Government oƯicials, education authorities, school staƯ, parents, students, and community members also
attended the event to celebrate this significant achievement.
Through the Smart Community Programme, Muslim Aid Sri Lanka continues to work with local communities,
government partners, and generous donors to strengthen access to education, infrastructure, and essential
services across Sri Lanka.
