COLOMBO — The Colombo Grand Mosque announced here that the crescent for the month of Shawwal was sighted. Therefore “ Eid Ul Fitr “ Ramazan Festival will be celebrated on 31st Monday March.
The decision was taken at a meeting attended by Asst. Secretary of the All Ceylon Jammiyyathul Ulama (the Supreme Council of Muslim Theologians of Sri Lanka) Sheikh MSM Thassim, Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Director M.S.M. Nawas, and Colombo Grand Mosque President Thahir Razeen were present in the evening after Maghrib prayers at the Colombo Grand Mosque.
Special prayers will be held at all the Mosques for our motherland for peace, harmony, tolerance, understanding and brotherhood and also for the people of Palestine.
