The governor of Penang has awarded Tan with the title of DATO for his yeoman services rendered in Sri Lanka to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
Colombo Times Chief Editor Mohammed Rasooldeen called on the high commissioner at the mission in Colombo on Monday, Aug. 22 to greet the diplomat on his new title bestowed on him for his dedicated services.
Rasooldeen said that the High Commissioner Tan has been in the island for a considerable period and had contributed a lot to build up the bilateral relations between the two counties.
The High Commissioner thanked Colombo Times for its continuous support to build up people to people relations between the two countries
