

PHNOM PENH : The Muslim World League will host the Islam-Buddhism Summit in Cambodia on February 27, 2025, at the Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.
The opening ceremony of the summit will be held under the presidency of Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, said on Feb. 25 Dr Othsman Hassan, Senior Minister in Charge of the Special Mission on Cambodian Islamic Affairs and a member of the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League.
The meeting will focus on sharing knowledge and experience in building a peaceful and religious harmonious society, he said.
Dr Othsman Hassan added that organising the Islam-Buddhism Summit will allow other countries to learn from Cambodia’s experience in building peace, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence between people of different ethnicities and religions.
According to the senior minister, about 200 foreign delegates from 35 countries and a total of approximately 1,000 participants will attend the forthcoming summit.
From Sri Lanka, Venerable Banagala Nayaka Thero , Chief Sanghanayaka of Japan, president of Mahabodhi Society of Sri Lanka is currently leading a nine – member delegation to the Summit,while the ACJU chairman Sheikh Rizvie Mufthi and chairman of the Assembly of Muslim Youths ,AMYs, As Sheikh M S M Thassim are representing leading two MUSLIM organizations.
