As a significant milestone in its illustrious 141-year history, Hameed Al Husseinie College, Colombo, will ceremonially lay the foundation for its new 9-storey Education, Sports and Innovation Complex on 28th Sunday June at 11. 00 a.m. This historic event will take place on the newly acquired 102-perch land adjoining the college premises.
The ceremony will be held under the patronage of Philanthropist Al Haj Ilyas Abdul Kareem. The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Rizvie Salih, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Khalid Hamoud Nasser Al-Qahtani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Sri Lanka, will attend as the Guest of Honour.
This landmark event, destined to be inscribed in golden letters in the history of Hameed Al Husseinie College, is expected to attract a distinguished gathering of students, alumni, parents, Members of Parliament, local government and municipal council representatives, foreign diplomats, senior officials from the public and private sectors, donors, community leaders, well-wishers, and numerous special guests from both Sri Lanka and abroad.
A modern building project has been designed for this newly acquired land to provide an integrated environment for educational, sporting, and extracurricular activities. The project was conceptualized and presented by LIGHT FOR LIFE, an organization that has continuously contributed to the social development and advancement of the people of Sri Lanka.
The new complex will include a modern administrative block for the Principal, Vice Principals, and administrative staff. In addition, dedicated Student and Parent Counselling Centres will be established to support students’ academic progress, mental well-being, and parental guidance.
