COLOMBO : As the deadline for the Sri Lanka Hajj pilgrims ended on Wednesday,Feb.26, the Chairman of the Hajj Committee told Colombo Times that the members in the Waiting List will fill in the vacant slots to join this year’s pilgrimage from Thursday,Feb.27.
Earlier the Department of Muslim Religious Affairs, DMRCA, urged all the Hajj aspirants to register with the payment of Rs.5,000 with the hajj account of DMRCA,
Before February 26th, 2025 to join with approved hajj operators for 2025.
A statement from the MRCA stated:” we regret to inform that the Haj permit may be cancelled for those who failed to comply the said deadline. Further the waitlisted registered Hajj aspirants may be replaced in accordance of such cancellations.Due to the enormous complaints we are receiving about the manipulated market by the middlemen, We urge the people to refrain the unauthorized people to handle the Hajj affairs.”
