COLOMBO — The grand opening ceremony of the newly constructed Sports Complex of Zahira College was held on Saturday February 7 at the College premises. It was held under the patronage of Principal of the College Trizviiy Marikkar.
The newly inaugurated sports complex is equipped with squash court, badminton court, basketball court, gymnasium, boxing ring and facilities providing students with enhanced opportunities for physical fitness, sporting excellence, and overall well being with a cost of rupees three hundred million.
The chief guests of the ceremony, Brandix Lanka Limited Managing Director Aslam Omar and Project Chairman Diamond Best Foods Chairman Jisthy Fahmi, officially opened the sports complex
Mementoes to the donors who contribute to the sports complex were presented at this ceremony.
Cargills Ceylon PLC Managing Director Imtiaz Abdul Wahid, Zahira College Board of Governor Secretary Nuzri Munsoor, Treasurer Dilshard Jiffry, Members of the Board of Governors, Teachers, Old Boys, well wishers and Students were present. Old Boys Association President Hazik Jaleel delivered the vote of thanks.
