COLOMBO ; The bill to establish the Institute of Chartered Media Professionals of Sri Lanka has been published in the government gazette.
This has been done under the directive of the Minister of Health and Mass Media.
According to the bill, the primary objectives of the proposed institute include recruiting qualified media professionals to the organization, further developing their skills and training, conducting research related to the media sector, maintaining professional discipline through a specific code of ethics and promoting cooperation with local and international media organization
