COLOMBO – The International Conference on Buddhism, Spirituality and Science organized by Eurasian Campus, Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Embassy of Nepal in Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka–Nepal Buddhist Association was held at the CEWAS Hall, Ratmalana on Sunday 11.
The Embassy of Nepal in Sri Lanka collaborated and participated in the International Conference on Buddhism, Spirituality and Science (ICBSS-2026) on the theme “Pathway to Global Peace” organized by Eurasian Campus, Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Nepal Buddhist Association & the Embassy of Nepal.
Vijay Kumar Raut, Chargé d’ Affaires a.i. of Nepal to Sri Lanka, addressed the conference as Guest of Honour and shared his concluding observations on the six insightful presentations ranging from ancient Buddhist teachings and climate crisis to quantum science, consciousness, and reconciliation.
In his remarks, Kumar highlighted ” As the Janmabhumi, Birthplace of Lord Buddha, Nepal believes Buddhism is not the past, it is our future pathway to Global Peace. From “Sagarmatha to Samundra” from the Himalayas to the Oceans what happens in the Himalayas does not stay in the Himalayas. Lord Buddha, who was born in a garden and attained enlightenment in the jungle, was the first environmentalist and the first wellness guru. The message of Lumbini-compassion, interdependence, and mindfulness is the answer to greed, climate crisis, and conflict.”
He thanked all distinguished scholars, venerable Maha Sangha, religious leaders, scientists, and researchers who brought together wisdom, compassion, scientific knowledge, and global harmony on one platform.
The Embassy extended its heartfelt gratitude to Eurasian Campus, the Sri Lanka-Nepal Buddhist Association, and participants for making ICBSS-2026 a grand success and for strengthening the eternal Dhamma bond between Nepal and Sri Lanka-Lumbini to Kandy and Anuradhapura.
