Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment of Sri Lanka,
Arun Hemachandra, attends Commemorative Meeting marking the 65th
Anniversary of the First Conference of Heads of State or Government of
Non-Aligned Movement Countries in Belgrade, Serbia
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment of Sri Lanka, Arun
Hemachandra, will head the Sri Lanka delegation to the High-Level Commemorative
Meeting marking the 65th Anniversary of the First Conference of Heads of State or
Government of Non-Aligned Movement Countries, to be held in Belgrade, Serbia, from 31
August to 1 September 2026.
Deputy Minister Arun Hemachandra will address the Commemorative Meeting on 1
September 2026.
On the sidelines of the 65th Anniversary commemoration, Deputy Minister Arun
Hemachandra will meet State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Damjan Jović;
State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Andrijana Jovanovic; Minister of Internal and
External Trade of Serbia, Jagoda Lazarevic; as well as Vice President of the Chamber of
Commerce of Serbia, Mihailo Vesovic, and members of the Chamber. He is also scheduled
to hold bilateral meetings with heads of other delegations attending the meeting.
The Non-Aligned Movement was founded in Belgrade in 1961 and currently comprises 119
member states and 18 observer states.
