COLOMBO — A commemoration ceremony for the late Supreme Leader Seyed Ali Khamenei was held recently at the Bilal Jumma Masjid and Madrasa in Maligawatta Place, Colombo.
Ali Kebriaei Zadeh, Cultural Counsellor of the Iran Cultural Center, attended the ceremony and, in his speech, he emphasized the importance of Muslims following the teachings of the Holy Quran and the life and guidance of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He also paid tribute to the life of the late Supreme Leader Seyed Ali Khamenei and recalled his interest in and concern for the Muslim community.
The Chief Imam of the mosque, Ash-Sheikh Fazil Hazrath, conducted a special dua for the late Seyed Ali Khamenei and prayed for peace and harmony throughout the world.
M.H.M. Sakeer, President of the mosque, presented a token of appreciation to Cultural Counsellor Ali Kebriaei Zadeh during the ceremony.
The Cultural Counsellor also handed over a collection of Islamic publications to the Madarasa.
The Secretary of the mosque, B.Z. Ayoob; Treasurer T.R.J.M. Sajjath; members of the mosque; and a large number of students were present at the event.
