The High Commission of Malaysia in Colombo extends its warmest greetings of ul-Fitri to all Muslims in Sri Lanka and Malaysians residing in the country as we
celebrate Eid ul-Fitri 1447H/2026.
Eid ul-Fitri marks the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan, a period of reflection,
self-discipline, and spiritual renewal. It is a time to celebrate the values of compassion,
unity, and gratitude, as well as to strengthen bonds among family, friends, and
communities.
This year’s celebration comes amid ongoing global and regional challenges, including
economic uncertainties and rising cost-of-living pressures that continue to affect
communities. In facing these challenges, the spirit of Eid reminds us of the importance
of solidarity, resilience, and mutual support. It is through unity, understanding, and
collective effort that we can overcome difficulties and build a more stable and inclusive
future for all.
In conjunction with this celebration, I am pleased to highlight Visit Malaysia 2026, a
national initiative aimed at welcoming more international visitors to experience the
country’s rich cultural diversity, natural beauty, and warm hospitality. Sri Lanka remains
an important partner in this effort, and I warmly invite Sri Lankan travellers to discover
Malaysia’s unique blend of modernity and tradition whether for leisure, business,
education, or medical tourism.
On this meaningful celebration, the High Commission conveys its sincere wishes for
peace, harmony, and prosperity to the people of Sri Lanka. Malaysia deeply values
the longstanding friendship and cooperation between our two nations, and we remain
committed to further enhancing our bilateral ties in areas of mutual interest.
May this festive season bring renewed hope, strength, good health, and happiness to
all.
Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin.
