



KUALA LUMPUR : Sri Lankan High Commission Participated in International Rotary Club Night in Kuala Lumpur
The International Rotary Club Night was hosted by the Rotary Club of Port Klang, Malaysia, held at Bukit Kiara Club House, Kuala Lumpur.
The event brought together more than 200 Rotarians, business leaders, and members of the diplomatic community, including representatives from Thailand, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Zambia.
As part of the event, the High Commission opened a vibrant exhibition stall showcasing Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage and diverse economic potential. The stall featured Sri Lankan batik, Ceylon Tea, Ceylon Cinnamon and related products, traditional handicrafts, and a dedicated tourism promotion corner highlighting Sri Lanka’s natural beauty, historical attractions, and multicultural identity. The initiative received notable attention from visitors, creating new interest in Sri Lankan products and travel experiences.
Acting High Commissioner M. I. Mohamed Rizvi addressed the gathering of Rotarians and shared insights on the strong investment opportunities available in Sri Lanka. He outlined the country’s rapid economic recovery, strengthened financial stability, and conducive environment for foreign investors. The Acting High Commissioner also highlighted key areas for investment, including the Colombo Port City, renewable energy, manufacturing, tourism, and technology services.
He further emphasized Sri Lanka’s natural beauty, strategic location, and diverse cultural traditions, inviting Malaysian and international partners to explore both tourism and business engagement with the island nation.
The High Commission reaffirmed its commitment to promoting economic diplomacy, enhancing cultural engagement, and strengthening people-to-people connections between Sri Lanka and Malaysia. Participating in such international platforms enables the Mission to continuously showcase Sri Lankan excellence and deepen bilateral cooperation.
