COLOMBO — Zahira College Old Boys Rugby Association (ZOBRA) had organized ZOBRA Challenge Trophy rugby encounter among the present Boys and Old Boys at the College Grounds Sunday April 5.
The match aimed to refine pre-tournament preparations and M. F.T. Fuard led the Zahira Old Boys team, while Sabri Sahibo captained the Present Boys. In an impressive display of sportsmanship, the Present Boys emerged victorious with a score of 34-17.
Mohamed Fahad of the Present Boys was recognized as the player of the match for his outstanding performance.
Captain of the Present team Sabri Sahibo, Vice Captains Rahath Saldin and Hijaz Inam received Champion trophy from chief guest Zahira College Board of Governors Chairman Fouzul Hameed.
Former Zahira College rugby players who went on the represent Sri Lanka were also felicitated during the award ceremony.
Principal Zahira College Trizviiy Marikkar, Old Boy’s Association President Mohamed Shiraz, Secretary Nuzri Munsoor, Zahira College Board of Governors Sports Committee Chairman Naina Mohamed, Rugby Committee Chairman Aufer Johar, ZOBRA President Hilmy Amith, Secretary Imtiaz Saboordeen, Vice President Nazim Ghaffoor and members of the organizing committee were also present.
