COLOMBO : The Ziyaram Committee of Supreme Council of Sufi Thareeqas, under the Patronage of President’s Council Razik Zarook PC (Senior Advisor – SCOT), visited the Kollupitiya Shrine and Jummah Masjid and paid their respects to Sheikh Makhdoom and Shaikh Muhammad Ali (Radi Allahu Anhuma) in Colombo on Sunday.
Special Prayers were conducted thanking the Almighty Allah for the resumption of Burials to Covid-Deceased, as well as for the eradication of Covid-19. This was followed by a meeting with the Chairman of the Kolpetty Masjid Trust Board.
The delegation expressed the importance of keeping such places of Muslim Heritage and Co-Existence open to all at all times. Visiting the shrines by Muslims and non-Muslims was a traditional practice in this country and it was a cornerstone of coexistence in the past
The Chairman promised to bring back the traditional practices of coexistence in the mosque after discussing with the board members
