COLOMBO: Last week Zam Zam Foundation-USA was featured as an organization that supports people to people connections between the USA and Sri Lanka on the occasion of marking 75 years of Diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Mafaz Ansar, a well-respected young Sri Lankan American and a core team member of Zam Zam Foundation USA team, addressed the audience live from Kentucky.
“ We were honored to have been invited to speak about Zam Zam Foundation and it’s work in USA and Sri Lanka; to a distinguished audience of Ministers , Members of Parliament, USA State Department & SL Foreign Ministry officials, Academics, Scholars, Diplomats, Community Leaders and Eminent American Personalities of Sri Lankan origin,” Ansar said.
In his remarks Ansar eloquently spoke of the work of Zam Zam Foundation and how it strives to empower 1st / 2nd Generation Sri Lankan youth apart from supporting community needs.
Others who spoke (and featured) alongside included Roshan Wijerama from Horizon Group USA, Sri Lanka Foundation in California and Professor Siva Sivananthan from UIC, among others.
The event was organized by US Embassy in Colombo in coordination with Sri Lankan Embassy in Washington, DC.
