

JAFFNA : North-South religious cooperation discussion of Interfaith leaders organized by Zam Zam Foundation along with DharmaShakthi Organization took place from February 6 to 8 covering Vavuniya and Jaffna.
A delegation of around 40 Senior Religious Leaders including 22 Buddhist Monks from Amarapura, Ramanna and Siyam chapters, Hindu Kurukkals, Moulavis and Christian Priests participated in this.
The delegation visited the Harmony Centre at University of Vavuniya, Jaffna Bishop’s house, Moor street Jumma masjid, Naga Vihara, Nalloor Aadeenam and Nagadeepa Raja Maha Viharaya.
The delegation had a Meeting with Jaffna based NGOs and a fruitful discussion with Hon. Governor of Northern Province Mr. Jeevan Thiagarajah at the Governor’s office.
There were representations made by residents on various concerns including resettlement, missing persons and contemporary challenges to social harmony.
Zam Zam Foundation organized this journey as a follow up to previous visits Eastern province with the objective of building sustainable peace by strengthening the harmony between communities through mutual understanding
