KANDY : An official of the Zam Zam Foundation had openly undermined the All Ceylon YMMA Conference and had described it as a dead organization, according to reports.from the aggrieved parties.
The statement was made by a speaker from the foundation at a function held at its headquarters in the hill capital in the presence of its president As Sheikh Yusuf Mufthi on Sunday ,November 9. A few representatives from the branches of the so -called dead organization were also present from the Kandy district.
The All Ceylon YMMA is thoroughly upset over this statement and it is planning. to hold an emergency committee meeting to discuss the seriousness of this irresponsible statement made on an organization which has more. than active 100 branches throughout the island.
YMMA is an organization which counts a chain of socio-economic projects carried out through its branch YMMAs. Lately, it’s busy interviewing candidates to offer GCE AL scholarships for more than 300 students. Last year, some 250 students. benefited from this project.Recently, it celebrated its 75th anniversary under the distinguished patronage of prime minister ,Dr Harini Amarasuriya.,
