COLOMBO – Zahira College Colombo 131st annual prize giving ceremony was held at the college Gaffoor Hall on May Friday 16. It was held under the patronage of Principal of the College Trizviiy Marikkar.
University of Colombo Former Vice Chancellor Senior Professor H.D. Karunaratne was present as chief guest. Meanwhile Zahira College Principal Trizviiy Marikkar read the principal’s report at the event and students sang the welcome song.
Students received gold medals and certificates in various subjects such as Grade 5 Scholarship , GCE Ordinary Level Examination (9As), Best performance, ICT, Biography, Physics , Political Science, Media and Communication Studies,General Proficiency, Accounting, Business Studies, Economic and other subjects.
The Best All Rounder Student of the College Zaman Nazar received the N.D.H. Abdul Ghafoor Gold Medal along with the Prof. M.T.A. Furkhan Challenge Cup and Brigadier A. Ariyapperuma Memorial Challenge Cup from Chief Guest Professor H.D. Karunaratne.
Principal Marikkar presented a memento to the chief guest Professor H.D. Karunaratner on behalf of the school.
Board of Governors Chairman Fouzul Hameed, Secretary Nuzri Munsoor, Old Boys Association President Hazik Jaleel, Zahira College past principals, Deputy Principal M.M. Shazli, Vice Principals A.M. Mihilar, Fazlin Firdhouse, M.T.M. Ilhum, Ms. Zeenath Ismail and Head of Primary Hasna Iflal along with Members of Board of Governors, Old Boys, Teachers, Parents and Students were also present.
