COLOMBO : Zahira College Colombo Welfare Society held its Special General Meeting 2024 (Reconvened) at the Ghaffoor Hall on 19th January 2025.
The primary agenda was to elect three of its members to represent the Society on the Board of Governors in accordance with Clause No: 3 (c) of the Zahira College Board of Governors Incorporation Act No. 18 of 1982.
The Special General Meeting (SGM) was presided over by its President, Dr. Hafeez Rajudin.
The Zahira College Colombo Welfare Society remains one of the most pillars supporting the college’s mission, actively contributing to its scholarship programs, which empowers and uplift deserving students in their academic pursuits.
In addition to its crucial role in education, the Society extends invaluable assistance to underprivileged students through initiatives such as the distribution of dry ration hampers during the holy month of Ramadan. Furthermore, it organizes an impressive array of religious, educational, and socially-oriented programs, enriching the cultural, spiritual, and communal life of the college and its students.
At the SGM, three members—Dr. Hafeez Rajudin, Mr. Thufail Farook, and Mr. Rishard Raheem—were unanimously elected to represent the Zahira College Colombo Welfare Society on the Board of Governors, a distinguished 14-member decision-making body. Their inclusion enhances the Board’s collective expertise, ensuring a well-rounded and dynamic team poised to drive sustained progress and success
The Board is currently chaired by the charismatic Mr. Fouzul Hameed, whose visionary leadership continues to guide the institution towards unparalleled success and excellence.
The momentous event was further elevated withe presence of several illustrious Old Zahirians, who have made remarkable contributions to the legacy and prestige of Zahira College. Their attendance underscored the enduring commitment of the college’s old boys while exemplifying the deep-rooted tradition of service, excellence, and dedication that continues to inspire and guide future generations.
The Special General Meeting was seamlessly and successfully orchestrated by the dynamic and dedicated secretary of the Zahira College Colombo Welfare Society, Moulavi M.T.M. Ariff, whose unwavering sense of commitment, meticulous planning, and exceptional leadership ensured its resounding success.
