COLOMBO : The Zahira College Welfare Society, an integral part of the Board of Governors (BOG), hosted its annual Iftar Programme on Friday, March 21st at the Swimming Pool Complex. This event served a paramount purpose in fostering bonds of fellowship and camaraderie among former Zahirians and the wider community.
The occasion was graced by distinguished guests, including Trizvy Marikkar, the Principal; Jisty Fawmy; Alavi Mukthar; Sanoon; Azmi; members of the BOG; OBA representatives; and a host of other esteemed dignitaries, who added to the event’s prestige and warmth.
Furthermore, the Zahira College Welfare Society embarked on a meaningful initiative by distributing Ramadan Food Hampers to 125 deserving and underprivileged students on March 20th at the Swimming Pool Complex.
Under the patronage of Trizvy Marikkar, the Principal, this noble endeavor sought to ease the hardships faced by students during the sacred month of Ramadan. For many years, the Welfare Society has remained steadfast in its mission, consistently distributing food hampers as a testament to its unwavering commitment to supporting students in need.
This annual initiative highlights the Society’s dedication to fostering a spirit of community and compassion within Zahira College. By extending support to those facing economic hardships, the Welfare Society continues to uphold the values of empathy and solidarity, ensuring that all students can observe Ramadan with dignity and peace of mind.
The Iftar Programme and Ramadan Food Hampers projects were meticulously organized under the dedicated leadership of Moulavi Ansar Ariff, Secretary of the Zahira College Welfare Society, in collaboration with a devoted team of members. This team, led by Dr. Hafiz Rajudin, President of the Welfare Society, and Thufail Farook, worked tirelessly to ensure the event’s resounding success. Their collective efforts and steadfast dedication embodied the spirit of unity and service that defines the Society.
