ADDALACHENAI: Pakistan High Commissioner Major General Omar Farook Burqi opened wells and distributed school bags and sports goods among students in ADDALACHENAI in the Eastern province on Friday July 7.
The projects funded by the high commission, sponsored by the Young Women’s Muslim Association headed by Fawaza Thaha and coordinated by Rahmath Foundation led by Rahmath Mansoor, former deputy mayor of Kalmunai.

YWMA President Thaha said that she is thankful to the Pakistan mission in Colombo which had helped to build wells and supply potable water to several villages in the Eastern Province.
“ These villagers did not have access to potable water for days long time and this became a reality with the help of Pakistan, our friendly country,” she added pointing out that Rahmath Foundation was at the site to implement the projects without loss of time.
