





COLOMBO ; The YWMA Janaza Unit was inaugurated by Badli Hisham Adam, High Commissioner of Malaysia in Sri Lanka on Monday, August at the Polwathe mosque kin Wellampitiya.
The ceremony was attended by special guests such as Madam Zalinah Yousuf as the Guest of Honor, Khalid Farouk, Patron of All Ceylon YWMA Conference , Mohammed Rasooldeen, Editor of Colombo Times,
Mrs Jabir Vice patron YWMA and distinguished community leaders.
The event was marked by the donation of essential items to the Polwatha Jumma Masjid, including a (coffin) Sandook, Janaza washing set,canopy, and chairs. Additionally, uniform materials were also distributed among the Ahadiya students and the teachers ,
In his brief speech ,Rasooldeen paid special tributes to the YWMA president Fawzan Thaha who has been rendering yeoman services to the uplift of deserving women,children and widows.He also described Malaysian envoy Hisham Adam as one of the friendliest envoys among the foreign envoys in Colombo.
The High Commissioner was felicitated with a token of appreciation by YWMA President Fawaza Thaha. During the ceremony, it was highlighted that the Janasa Unit’s primary focus is on supporting the local community, identifying widows and orphans, and empowering women to create a better future for themselves and their families. The Unit aims to make a positive impact on the life of those in need, fostering a path of dignity and self-sufficiency.
The programme was compered by Zahra Thaha, who proposed the vote of thanks at the end of the session .
