Women migrant workers age limit to be reduced to 21 years

COLOMBO : To get more foreign currency through foreign employment, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the amendment of minimum age limit for Sri Lankan women leaving for foreign employment as housemaids to 21 years of age, the Government Information Department announced here on Tuesday.June 21 .
Earlier, the minimum age limit of these women workers was set at 25 and this will open the floodgate to attract more women to the profession.
