Wesswood International College Katugastota, Kandy donated dry rations worth over fifty thousand Rupees to Sri Subodha a Elders’ Home that is located in its neighborhood.
This meritorious act of donation was initiated by the Vice Principal of the institution Fahad Jewfur. A team of teachers and a group of prefects visited this elder’s home recently to hand over their donation of dry rations that was purchased with the fund that was raised from the parents of the students of Grade 6 and above.
The sectional Heads of the upper school and middle school of Wesswood Ms. Zahra and Mrs. Mafaza effectively coordinated this project to a roaring success. The Principal of the school. Chandrasiri, Vice Principal Fahad Jewfur were among the delegates who visited this Elders Home to see the health of 20 elders at the Home. There are 19 females and a male inmates that are given food, clothing and shelter at Sri Subodha Elders’ Home which is run by a monk who is attached to the Gatembe Temple in Peradeniya.
