COLOMBO : As the crescent moon ushers in the sacred month of Muharram 1447 AH on 27th June, Muslims around the world enter not just a new year on the Islamic calendar, but a season of profound spiritual opportunity.
Muharram, one of the four sacred months in Islam, holds a special place in our tradition. It is not merely the beginning of a new calendar—it is a call to pause, reflect, and renew. In early Islamic history, it was a month in which warfare was forbidden, and peace was upheld—a powerful symbol of harmony and restraint.
One of the most spiritually significant days in this month is the 10th of Muharram—Ashura. It is a day marked by fasting, reflection, and remembrance, encouraging Muslims to seek closeness to Allah through patience, gratitude, and humility.
In a time when the world continues to grapple with challenges—conflicts, uncertainty, and widespread hardship—Muharram reminds us of the timeless values of peace, perseverance, and unity. It invites us to respond to adversity not with despair, but with faith and resolve.
At Traveller Global, we recognize that the journey of faith is not confined to physical travel—it is also a journey of the heart and soul. As we accompany pilgrims across sacred lands, we are reminded each day of the importance of intention, reflection, and sincere service to others.
As we begin this new Islamic year, let us raise our hands in du’a for healing, justice, and better days for all. Let us step forward with compassion for others and clarity in our actions, working together to build a world rooted in empathy, mercy, and peace.
May Muharram 1447 bring peace to our hearts, clarity to our minds, and unity to our world.
Aameen.
