COLOMBO — The Wakf Board of Sri Lanka has officially unveiled its Library under the Chairmanship of Marshad Barry, making a significant milestone in strengthening institutional knowledge and promoting research within the organization.
The initiative was launched with the blessing and guidance of.Muneer Mulaffar Deputy Minister of Religious and Cultural Affairs, whose encouragement has been instrumental in supporting the proposal by the Chairman of Wakf Board.
The newly established Library will serve as a valuable resource for members of the Wakf Board and its staff, providing access to a wide range of reference materials on Wkaf administration, Islamic studies, religion, culture, Law, and other related subjects. It is expected to enrich knowledge, support informed decision making, and facilitate research on matters pertaining to the administration and development of Wakf Institutions in Sri Lanka.
At this occasion Chairman Marshad Barry emphasized that the library reflects the Board’s commitments to fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional development and excellence in governance. He noted that access to reliable knowledge and reference materials is essential for strengthening the effective administration of Wakf affairs and ensuring informed policy decisions.
The establishment of the Library represents another step forward in the Wakf Board’s ongoing efforts to modernize and digitalize its services, build institutional capacity, and better serve the Muslim Community of Sri Lanka. Member of Wakf Board Ashshaik M. S.M Ihsan presented the first set of books to the Chairman Marshad Barry and other members of the Wakf Board M.Lafeer Zainul Masooden, A.M.J.M Jaufer, M.Y.A. Rifak Ahmad, M. A. Mohammed Aroos and M.I.Aminudeen were present at the occasion.
