COLOMBO : The 2026 election reflects Vietnam’s governance capacity and political maturity, Deputy Speaker of the Sri Lankan Parliament Rizvie Salih wrote in an exclusive article for VOV on the occasion of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, scheduled for Sunday.
According to the Deputy Speaker, preparations for the legislative elections in Vietnam are being carried out methodically and with close coordination. In the digital era, Vietnam has adopted new campaigning methods, with online platforms facilitating greater interaction between voters and candidates.
Mr. Salih said that over the past few decades, Vietnam has emerged as one of Asia’s notable success stories. This reflects, he said, a strong commitment on the part of Vietnam’s leaders and people to the goals of national development and social progress.
The upcoming election is the latest step in consolidating these achievements and preparing for future development. A stable, forward-looking legislative process will boost national development, strengthen regional stability, and improve international cooperation. The Sri Lankan legislator said he’s confident the election will be successfully organized and he’s optimistic about Vietnam’s continued development prospects. VOVWORLD
