COLOMBO — The Viet Nam Embassy hosted a reception to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Independence Day of Viet Nam and the 55th Anniversary of Viet Nam – Sri Lanka Diplomatic Relations at the Hilton Hotel Colombo on Tuesday August 19.
It was held under the patronage of Ambassador of the Viet Nam Trinch Thi Tam.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath was present as the chief guest.
Governor of the Western Province Hanif Yusoof, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Dr. Rizvie Salih, Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation and Leader of the House Bimal Rathnayake, Tilvin Silva, General Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), Mayor of Colombo Vraîe Cally Balthazaar , Secretary Defence, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha , Ministers, Present and Past Members of the Parliament, Diplomas and Members of the Defence Forces were present.( Pix by Rumana Saleem)
