COLOMBO : Ms. M. G. MaleeshaSewmini, the winner of the first quiz session held from January
5th to 20th, 2025, received her prize Friday, (07th February,) at the Embassy of
Viet Nam in Colombo. She is a first-year student at Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.
In expressing her thoughts, Ms. Maleesha shared that she learned about the
competition through her university and decided to participate to experience
something unique and new. “The competition provided an opportunity to delve into
the relations between Viet Nam and Sri Lanka,” she remarked. She was also
impressed with the current ties between Viet Nam and Sri Lanka, especially peopleto-people links.
The quiz competition was organized by the Embassy of Viet Nam in Sri Lanka in
collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism
of Sri Lanka, along with the Colombo Times. This initiative commemorates the 55th
anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Sri Lanka. The competition
consists of six sessions, each featuring five questions that primarily focus on Viet Nam
and its ties with Sri Lanka.
Questions are published on the Colombo Times website between the 5th and 20th of
each month, from January to June 2025. The second round of the quiz is now open
for all Sri Lankans, both within the country and abroad, to participate. We encourage
Sri Lankans of all ages to join the contest and stand a chance to win impressive prizes
