COLOMBO : The United Nations Association of Sri Lanka (Affiliated with the World Federation of United Nations Associations) had organized an International Women’s Day Ceremony held at the Hotel Kinro, Panadura 20th March. Sirasa Laxapathiya Winner Shukra Munawwar was present as a special guest.
It was held under the patronage of Ms Shyama Wijekulasooriya and Ms. Panchali Rathnayake.
UNA Secretary General Errol G. Smith presented the United Nations Association free life membership to the Shukra Munawwar at this ceremony. Also Miss. Nabeeha Rushanudeen, Student of Campbell International School Youngest Life Member of UNASL was honored by Ms Shyama Wijekulasooriya.
Chef Dr. Pabilis Silva, Lion District Governor Dr. Amitha Jayawardena , Solidarity Center Legal Officer Ms.. Lilanthi Lumari, Retired SSP Ms. Deemanthi Periyapperuma, Ms. Panchali Rathnayake also addressed the gathering in various subjects.
Executive Chairmans of the UNA Dr. M. M. M. Rushanudeen, M. M. Zawahir, Deputy Executive Chairmans Dr. Rohan Dayaratne, Sampatha Priyankara, Assistant Secretary General Dr. Kamal Abeywardana, Editor Dharmadasa Vitharana and Members of the Association were also present at the event.
